Mele on the A-frame

Origin Story:

Aloha! Meet Mele 🌺
Pronounced Meh-leh, her name means “song” in Hawaiian—and she’s already brought a beautiful melody into our lives.

Mele’s journey began on the island of Kauai, where she was found as a stray and became a long-term resident at the Kauai Humane Society. During a shelter workshop hosted by K9inscentive, LLC and Conservation Dogs of Hawaii, Mele’s playful spirit and sweet nature stood out immediately—she stole our hearts on the spot.

Not long after, this island girl took a big leap: she boarded a flight from Lihue all the way to Los Angeles to begin her new chapter on the mainland.

Here are some of her stats:

  • Female (spayed)

  • Approx. 2 years old

  • 43 pounds

  • All legs!

  • Loves to tug and chase toys

  • Swims like a fish

  • Scruffy, tri-color coat

Mele is athletic, affectionate, and full of fun. She loves to play, make friends, and explore her surroundings with curiosity and joy. Her Embark DNA test is on the way, and we’ll be sharing results soon. For now, she’s settling in, learning the ropes, and bringing sunshine everywhere she goes.

Stay tuned—this is just the beginning of Mele’s song. 🎶🐾
